The Regional Malaria CSO platform, GMS has organized the five community consultations together with community volunteers/village malaria workers, country CSO partners, government representatives, RSC secretariat, UNOPS, Regional and Country consultants for RAI3 funding request, RAI RSC CSO Reps, The global fund Reps, CCMs, and CSO platform secretariat in Vietnam on 13rd January, Lao DPR on 16th January, Thailand on 20th January, Myanmar on 23rd January and Cambodia on 28th January 2020. The community consultation aims to collect inputs and recommendations from community representatives and CSOs during RAI3 funding request preparation for each country.
The community representatives highlighted the key issues, including community based case management, referral and follow, integrated service at the community, strengthening surveillance at the community level and community participation, community rights and gender, cross border intervention, P.vivax interventions including community workers role in P.vivax response, capacity strengthening of the volunteers and community workers and meaningful collaboration with national malaria programs to achieve malaria elimination in the region. Afterward, CSO platform focal person and steering committee member presented outcomes of each country’s community consultation during the country dialogue, which was organized on following day of the community consultation. County dialogue was organized by CCM with support of the RAI RSC secretariat.
