The APLMA-APMEN catalytic fund is a small-scale technical support fund aimed to support the technical needs of the National Malaria Programmes that cannot be covered by other partners and mechanisms like the WHO, Global Fund, RBM’s CRSPC etc, and to further peer to peer collaboration in Asia Pacific and leverage deep technical expertise that exists within the region. Potential technical areas for catalytic support include, but are not limited to, vector control, vivax, and surveillance. 22 National Malaria Programmes that are part of the APLMA-APMEN network are invited to submit proposals of request of support from the catalytic fund.

The submitted proposals need to include the following pieces of information:

  • Strategies/ approaches/ activities with timeline (not more than 6 months)
  • Name and email of contact person
  • Proposed breakdown budget (maximum USD 30,000 per proposal)
  • Collaborative institution/ partners or other National Malaria Programme

The length of the proposal should be between 2 to 3 pages. The proposals will be assessed and vetted by the APLMA-APMEN Secretariat, in consultation with the relevant APMEN Working Groups. The selection of proposals will depend on the number of proposals received, funding availability, and effectiveness and impact on country’s malaria elimination trajectory.

Interested National Malaria Programmes are requested to submit a brief ‘proposal’ to the APLMA-APMEN secretariat admin@aplma.org by 29th February 2024. If you would like to discuss this opportunity, please contact us pshein@aplma.org.
